Significant thanks for the contribution to the field of legal philosophy goes to the leader of the author’s team, Dr. Katarzyna Žák Krzyžánková, the secretary of the Czech Association for Legal and Social Philosophy, for her diligent work in preparing and publishing the book.

Annotation:
Human rights today represent the legal and ethical framework for the correct functioning of society. The doctrine and practice are dynamically changing. Impulses for this come from both within and outside of the law. Innovations have been stemming from theoretical discourse, the search for the new by justice, and changes in the social context. And it is these questions, that this book, written by a team of authors from the Faculty of Law at Charles University, addresses. Its leitmotif is a summary of the state of human rights in the face of the realities of the early 21st century, shaped by phenomena such as globalization, integration, multiculturalism, and new technologies. The book offers a thematic variety and plurality of perspectives from which one can look at human rights. Its common theme is the attempt to analyze the crossroads that human rights find themselves at: are these rights still on the rise, or have they already hit the limits of their growth?
