Czech-Croatian Colloquium in Legal Theory
On May 24, 2024, the Czech Association for Legal and Social Philosophy, in cooperation with the Department of Legal Theory of the Faculty of Law of Charles University, organized an event titled “Czech-Croatian Colloquium in Legal Theory.” This pilot meeting initiated the collaboration between leading Czech and Croatian academic institutions engaged in legal theory.
Experts from the law faculties of universities in Zagreb, Osijek, Split, Prague, Brno, and Pilsen gathered at the colloquium. During four thematic sessions – Law and Responsibility; Application of Law, Legal Argumentation and Doctrinal Research; Functions and Challenges of Law; and Human Rights and Balancing – a total of twelve papers were presented, followed by interesting discussions.
Participants from the Czech Republic and Croatia shared their current research and established new professional relationships.
The organizers believe that this successful event will lay the foundations for new collaborations between members of the Czech and Croatian IVR, as well as between individual academic institutions of both countries. The Czech IVR looks forward to future joint activities and further opportunities for cooperation.
